PATH CONDITIONS: Rocky and long traversing the riverbed of Rio Sisine, exposed for most of it
HOW TO GET THERE: From Tortoli take the main road SS125 north passing through Lotzorai continuing on the twisting ascent to the mountain town of Baunei. Continue through Baunei until the main church on the left hand side. Approx.100m on the right hand side after the church is the ascending road which takes you above the town. Follow the signs to Goloritzè and La Chiesa di San Pietro. It is well signposted. The road flattens out at the top and you continue for another 6km before arriving at the old church of San Pietro
THE TREK: Head north from the old church of San Pietro, a signpost to Cala Sisine marks the trail's direction and beginning. The wide dusty trail continues for several kilometers before arriving at the rocky riverbed trail that gently descends and twists through the predominantly rocky territory. This continues until the final kilometer where the trail opens up a little and swings right into a final short straight that arrives to the refreshment point and beach (pictured). Refreshment point at the beach of Cala Sisine (May to September only), shallow canyon trekking, local wildlife includes cows, goats, donkeys, snakes and lizards. Swimming opportunities at the beach. Return transfer (to Santa Maria Navarrese or Arbatax) by boat optional
