How to get there:
From Tortoli take the main road SS125 north passing through Lotzorai and ascending the mountain road continue through Baunei town. After approx. 35Km a signpost on the right hand side of the road directs you to "Rifugio Carta". Leaving the main tarmac road you travel for approx 5.5km on a level dirt track until arriving at Rifugio Carta

Raw tradition is the order of the day as set amoung the glorious rugged high planes of the Baunein Sopramonte is Rifugio Carta, a basic but incredibly hospitable accommodation for travellers wanting to immerse themselves in Sardinian tradition and legend.
Several stone shepherd style huts with circular wooden roofing blend perfectly into this beautiful natural environment and act as dormatories for visitors. "En suite" accommodation is available with a private shower unit and toilet, otherwise toilet and washing facilities are on site. A main building of equal structoral tradition is used for breakfast, lunch and dinner for those wishing to taste the delicious local food. Almost all of the menu available is produced on site.
Rifugio Carta is a working, living, breathing entity bathed in wildlife, interest and history.
