How to get there:
Following the main road SS125 north to Olbia, the road ascends to the mountain town of Baunei in which about halfway through you follow the signs on the right of the road to Punto Goloritzè or Il Golgo or Chiesa di San Pietro. The road climbs and hairpins for about a kilometre then levels out at the top. There are some fantastic views of Ogliastra from the last bend, there is a small gravel layby where you can stop for photography. Continue for approx. 7km until turning right at the signpost on the right of the road for Goloritzè. The road becomes a little heavy under wheel but keep going until you arrive at the carpark and the main rest point building.
This restuarant and bar is a warm welcome to visitors of the high plains of Golgo. Walkers on their way to Cala Goloritzè can buy small essentials and obtain information about the local area.
The friendly service fits perfectly with the beautiful environment in which this rest point is located. Tent pitches and motorhomes are welcome, there are shower and bathroom fascilities but no electric points for the plugging in or recharging of vehicles.
The natural sinkhole Su Sterru is only 200m from this site.
